Ashtavinayaka Pendant

800.00

This is a sacred Hindu religious pendant featuring Lord Ganesha. The design is based on the Ashtavinayaka (a Sanskrit term where Ashta means “eight” and Vinayaka is another name for Ganesha).

Central Figure: The pendant features a large, detailed depiction of Lord Ganesha in a seated position at its center. This central idol often has a different finish (in this case, a bronze or brass tone) to make it stand out.

Surrounding Figures: Encircling the central deity are eight smaller, distinct forms of Ganesha, each set within a petal-like lobe of the pendant. These eight figures represent the Ashtavinayaka—the eight specific, self-manifested (Swayambhu) idols of Ganesha, each with its own temple and legend, which form a famous pilgrimage circuit in and around Maharashtra, India.

Material and Design: The pendant is made of metal, appearing as a dual-tone piece. The main body has an oxidized silver-toned finish, which contrasts with the bronze-toned central Ganesha. The overall shape is circular with eight lobes, creating a floral or mandala-like pattern. It includes a loop at the top for wearing on a chain.

Purpose: This pendant is worn by devotees as a powerful amulet. It is believed to bestow the combined blessings of all eight forms of Ganesha, offering protection from obstacles, granting success in new ventures, and bringing good fortune and prosperity to the wearer.
